The NEW Vancouver Convention Centre is striving for LEED Gold Certification. What does this mean? It means they will be following rigorous environmental guidelines for their operations including a comprehensive recycling and waste management program, a sustainable food and beverage policy, and water and energy management and conservation measures. Additional eco-features such as the "living roof," the seawater heating and cooling, the on-site water treatment and the sea-life habitat built right onto the outer foundation will make it one of the greenest convention centers in the world.
